McShannock Goes Duck Hunting

Byline: VIP Hatrick +1 Lounge

Jason McShannock @jmcshannock single handedly beat the Not So Mighty Ducklings last night. McShanny had a career night by netting four goals and leading the Americans to their fourth straight win.
“Everything he put on net seemed to go in” said defensive leader @manny . McShannock scored two long goals and showed his silky mitts in close on the other two. When asked for comment he simply said “Im just gonna be humble and not say anything”. His efforts earned him the much coveted All American Cowboy Hat presented to the teams best player of the night.

His teammates were dazzled by his prolific performance. “Im pretty sure he scored one from the parking lot” jokingly said @antio1pd . The goal in question was a long distance bomb in the dying seconds of the second period. McShannock picked up the biscuit in his own end, took a stride and fired a laser on goal from his own blue line. Watching from the bench @wilkie estimated the speed of the shot. “It was easily 107 mph and would have beat any goalie in the MNL”. @jcoan had no chance on making the save. It would have taken a Herculian effort to stop that puck. “I thought I was watching Niklas Lidstrom score that long distance goal against Vancouver goalie Cloutier in the 2011 playoffs” said Duck Dman @Maff . This proved to be the straw that broke the Ducks back in the game.

The game was not in question for most of the night. The only score that needed to be settled was a friendly wager between @dreamweaver and Duck power forward @Tim D’Onofrio. The bet was that if Weaver scored he would get Turtles old Mighty Ducks sweater for his son. Every attempt was made by the Americans to fulfill that bet. The team developed a plan for him to light the lamp. Invoking an offensive gameplan, the red white and blue stormed the net. Weaver had multiple attempts to snipe but could not finish much like fellow MNL’ers @chad_paulinski and @davep. With a couple minutes to go the Amerks had a 3 on 0. Everyone in the building knew it was going to Weaver. The shot was thwarted by Coaner while both American defenseman were at the bench just watching the play. @pniphoratos picked up the puck, lifted up his head and saw a wide open rink ahead of him. It would result in an unassisted breakaway goal to end the game 6-3. “Me and @nekogt6 were swapping recipes on the ice and talking about Netti Pots so we forgot to play defense” commented @bbalasia. The Americans have put together twelve straight points and look to challenge the most prestigious club in the league Northstars next week in a primetime matchup.
