The Americans faced the aged North Stars Monday night with their season on the line. The Tigers win in the 9pm showcase game basically solidified their playoff hopes so the red white and blue were in a must win situation to avoid being virtually mathematically eliminated. The Stars came into the game well rested after a 3pm team dinner at The Sign Of the Beefcarver and naps. “Troy has us on a pretty stringent regimem. We wake up early, play some pickleball before dinner, impart wisdom to the youth, take a nap and then off to the rink” said shut down defenseman Pistol Pete Niphratos. It did not take long for the North Stars to bestow life lessons to the Amerks. “We use our vast experience to teach these young fellas how to excel as a team” said veteran young guy Mike Sikorski. “We like to score on them, then pat them on the head, give them a Worthers Original and educate them on how to play defense the next time”. The North Stars success this year can be attributed to the entire team buying in to the Otto Way. “We have a tremendous amount of hockey knowledge in this group. As stewards of this league we feel an obligation to give back to the next generation” said Co-Owner and COO of the team Tyrone Otto. The Stars provided not only knowledge last night but a five goal performance to down the Americans 5-2.
