Dickie Dunn’s Way Too Early Mock Draft 1.0 – Lost 7th Round
Lost in the shuffle was Dickie’s 7th Round selections. Much has happened since the first rendition of the mock draft. I will continue announcing my original picks that were made prior to today’s trades. The beauties who are selected in Round 7 this year will forever be known as the “Lost Boys”!
43. Americans: Manny – Slated as the Americans 7th Rounder he looks to get the red, white and blue back into their proper position… the Super Power of the World. He and Antioch are looking to get the band back together and replay the 2017-18 Keg winning championship season. Makes smart plays and takes advantage of lanes to rush the puck up. Roster: Proctor, Antioch, Peso, AJ Powers, McShanny, Balasia, Manny, Drago
44. Tigers: Brian Leroy – Large, solid man. Not fleet of foot but plays defense very well. If you try to go around him, he will rub you into the boards. If you try to go through him, he will crush you. One of the best second pair D-men in the MNL. Roster: Matt Taylor, Bin, Gio, Skillman, John Eidt, Matt Lepoudre, Leroy, Neville
45. Mighty Ducks: Nick Myers – Could be a steal here in Round 7. When he plays on the top line he fits right in. Makes the most of his opportunities and has the ability to finish. Put him on the bender line and he can disappear on you. Roster: Pistol, Starr, Turtle, Brauny, Joey Ellis, Soukas, Myers, Cipps
46. North Stars: Troy Otto – Leads his family and club with authority. Rules with an iron fist. Loved by all and hated by all at the same time. Looking to find a way to build a team that can perform when it counts. Has come close to raise the Keg… is this the year? Roster: Sugar, Judge, Wruble, Rivet, AllanZ, Captain Tom Phillips, Troy, Shephard
47. Seals: Brian Pearcy – Energized and motivated by the Perfect MNL Human Jack Serda, Pearcy has transformed his body into a physical specimen. This will translate well into his style of play. Host of the official MNL podcast, he has become the voice of the league. Young children sit by their Twitch accounts and wait to hear what he has to say every Tuesday night. We can’t wait to hear what he says when he raises the Keg as a Seal.(8th Rounder recap of the Seals pick) Joe Brennan – Growing up in British Columbia Canada this young man sharpened his hockey skills on the frozen lakes of Kamloops. His slender frame allowed him to be faster than all the other boys on his team. He began to be bullied at the tender age of 8 so he developed a ‘mean streak”. No longer was he to be pushed around. Brennan brings this mean streak to MNL and always finds himself at the top of the PIMS list. Roster: ShaunE, Cunningham, Rattler, DaveP, DougE, Edge, Pearcy, Brennan
48. Whalers: Ryan Maffesoli: Coming off a terrible injury that would have side lined a normal player for 8-10 months, Maff looks to get back his stride. He may start slow and gingerly but look for this guy to be healthy and ready by mid October. Trent commented “How can you not love this guy? He can play on my club any day”. Roster: Serda, Trent, Kimmel, Mountain, Chocolate Thunder, Bull, Maff, Weaver
49. Nordiques: Olivere – Steady player who won’t hurt you while he’s out there. Gritty grinder who will log minutes. Takes care of his own end and can add a tally in the offensive zone. Roster: Andy Femm, C. Taylor, The General, Gram, Bauer, Easy E Lepoudre, Olivere, Panty Dropper
This has been a busy Dickie Dunn reporting… Look for Round 9 tomorrow.
