Dickie’s Way Too Early Mock Draft 1.0 6th Round

We’ve come to Round 6 of the 2019/20 MNL Draft preview. These are the slots GM’s look at to compliment their top players and performers. This is the round were they find a jewel in the rough. There is still plenty of value at this point with big time names still on the board…

36. Nordiques: Eric Lepoudre – The Silent Assassin will be the anchor of the baby blue defense. Underrated his first year in the league but shined in the 2018/19 campaign. He quietly goes about his business and by business I mean one of the best defensemen in the league. Always makes the smart play and uses his size to defend his goal. Great pick at #36 overall.

37. Whalers: David Turnbull – Lean, mean fighting machine. “I fell like I’m in the best shape of my life” Bull lamented. Dropped 125 pounds last season (divorce) and his speed, strength and ability has soared. He is quicker on his skates and quicker to pucks. Not afraid to jump into the play. Look for a big year out the Bull.

38. Seals: Brian Edge – Looking to start his rookie season in MNL. Relative unknown commodity. Is he a defenseman? Is he a forward? Is he the next big thing? Rumored to have played in the brutal Quebec Major Senior League for the Chicoutimi Saguenees. Tallied 224 PIMS in just 18 games. Brian Edge looks to bring an EDGE to the league.

39. North Stars: Tom Phillips – Known as Captain Phillips by his mates, Tom enters the fold as a North Star. GM Tyler Otto revealed his scouting report. “Never seen him play. Just like his name”. Contacted for comment he said “I’m the Captain now so Troy can fuck off!”.

40. Ducks: Adam Soukas – Long and rangy defenseman. Has the ability to be part of the top defensive pairing. Pride and joy of Helsinki Finland. The City holds a parade through the streets in his honor each year. A joy to be around but will also stick you in the groin if your in front of his net.

41. Tigers: Matt Lepoudre – Shares DNA with the BigE so that’s a bonus. Quite the chatterbox compared to Eric. Will start his rookie year under the tutelage of GM Jeff Skillman. “I would imagine he comes with size and strength like his brother so we’ll take a chance on him” said team spokesperson Ryan Allen.

42. Americans: Brian Balasia – Solid and steady stay at home defenseman. Looking to bounce back from a devastating and grotesque ankle injury invoked by Pistol Pete. Balasia was reached for comment from his rehabilitation center in Sarasota Florida. “Hockey players have a long memory. I’ve had Pistols face on my mirror and every day I brush my teeth I imagine exacting my revenge”.
