So a few days ago, there were talks about Chad, there were talks about DaveP, and talks about me referencing things that are from way in the past. So all of this reminded me of a character I was gonna use for an article I never finished or posted way long ago. I’m not going to finish the article, but I don’t think you should miss out on this lovable character I created a long time ago. So please MNL, let me introduce you to one of my favorite persons: ChadP

It was more than just a short joke about the two finalists for best MNLer under 5’6. It was a beautiful combination about a perfect yin and a yang. I used this copy to describe them:

“Looks like Dave P and Chad both made the cut for the All-Star team. Love both those guys, but they’re ridiculous: Chad boo hooing himself after a 2 point game in a win, and Dave P showing faith that his squad is the best, despite constant losses and low placing.

They’re still lovable guys though, it’s just too bad we can’t combine them together into 1 person! That guy then would actually have demeanor of a regular person! And also the size of a regular person.”

So that is where the character was born; a great setup for future scenarios where ChadP both lifts you up, but also brings you right down.

Scenarios like this would arise from a moment where Charles was on fire as a goaltender, but seemed to have a lot of his shutouts against one particularly bad Wednesday Troy team:

And after a night where things just don’t go too well, you might hear ChadP exclaim something like this, after the game:
