The season started a month ago, and fans filled the seats at Viking Ice Arena as the G.O.A.T.S. and the goats of the preseason swapped places in September. But, for many, it didn’t truly feel like the 3rd Official Season of Monday Night Lights started until last night, when the last league favorites finally made their debut.
The theatrics started last week when two time champion and newly acquired Nordiques F Paul Proctor returned for his first game of the season to fanfare; however, it was Proctor’s hat trick against the North Stars that marked his real return. Not to be outdone, Americans F, and Assistant to Dickie Dunn, Paul ‘Bin’ Biliti returned from injury as well, scoring the first goal in the first victory for the Americans this season.
But it the season didn’t truly start until the fans’ favorite player returned last night. After the game, I was able to sit down with him for this interview.
Jarómy Drágr: Thank you for sitting down with me. Welcome to the Monday Night Lights Hockey Network.
Speaker System: 🎵 WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, WE’VE GOT FUN N’ GAMES! 🎵
Jarómy Drágr: Ok… May I call you Speaker System?
Speaker System: 🎵 I can call you Betty. And Betty, when you call me, You can call me Al! You can call me Al. 🎵
Betty: Ok… So, you went down last season with a broken cable. Seemed like it was almost a career-ending injury.
Al: Heh, heh, heh, heh! WOW! Heh, heh, heh, heh! I mean that was close! Heh! We can laugh about it now – we’re alright, ya know. Heh, heh.
Betty: What did you say to the doctor when you had your injury checked out?
Al: 🎵 Ooh, yeah! Kickstart my heart, Hope it never stops! Ooh, yeah, ba-ba-ba-bay-by! 🎵
Betty: Wow, bold. Well, now that you’re back, the fans are really coming out in droves to listen to you. Is there any particular players that you’re excited to see this season?
Al: PROCTORRR! Where IS PROCTORRR?!?
Betty: He’s on the Nordiques this year.
Al: 🎵 WOAH-AH! Let’s Go Les Nordiques! COME ON! 🎵
Betty: Wow, are you Nordiques fan?
Al: [Brass Bonanza]
Betty: Well, nevermind then.

Reporting from the Scorekeepers box (where nobody likes to hang out from 10pm to 11pm on Mondays), this is Betty reporting.
