The Nordiques have won something… The number one pick in the upcoming 2018/19 MNL Draft. The lucky ping pong ball was selected randomly out of @pantydropper hat in the scorching Berkley sun. “With the #1 selection in the draft…the Nordiques” exclaimed Associate Director of Central Scouting @suokas as he raised the logo-ed ping pong ball.

Conjecture on who that selection would be occurred in seconds as the draft was streamed live on Periscope. Comments such as “Oh, 22 is fucked” and “Wow, Sugar could be back in the fold” littered the Slack channel. Via an intercom at Plumbrook Elementary School, teacher and MNL veteran @wilkie said “Im glad I don’t have to worry about being selected number one overall and have to play for that organization”. Others were trying to promote themselves as a top three pick. “I would be a bargain as a top three pick” said a youthful @pniphoratos .

Central Scouting has published a list of the top 6 players eligible for this year’s draft. Two players have secured the top two spots and those being @pauly and @hardyparty92 . “Depending on how the GM’s want to build their team will determine who goes first” said league Matriarch @dslackerone. Dave P @davep chimed in and speculated on @pantydropper and @jcoan top pick. “Eye could sea dose too pickin me furst just to curse me!”.

Rounding out the top six selections are Pistol, @jserda and @dcunningham8 . These players are corner stones of any organization. The true measure of a team will be how the GM’s assemble their squads in the later rounds. “I mean obviously @chad_paulinski is a top second rounder, but how do I select between @smachi and @hal ? They are both hidden gems in the late rounds” commented new Co-GM of the Americans @antio1pd . War rooms from across the league from the Whalers to the Seals are prepping for the draft which is rapidly approaching. The draft is slated for July 13 and a time and venue is being determined. Todd McShay and Mel Kiper are working on mock drafts as we speak. Stay tuned for possible draft pick trades, sleepers, busts and player analysis in the coming articles.
