One of Monday Night Lights’ star players may have played his last game in the league. According to sources close to Whalers F Chad Paulinski, the 4’7″ sophomore will not be returning for a 3rd season. Paulinski, notorious for his self-deprecation and not playing in Spring Season, has designated himself as Out for the Whalers game tomorrow, making his last game played the Wild Card game against the Golden Seals on February 12th.
Paulinski, who has been playing on one year contracts during the twilight years of his career, has been a flight risk to the BFEHL, a league known for being far away from everything ever. When reached for comment, Paulinski commented “Yeah, still recovering from concussion symptoms and even if I wasn’t, the drive is pretty tough.” Sounds like this player is remaining tight lipped, as contract negotiations are still in progress.
But is it because of Hockey?
Other pundits have rebutted the idea of Paulinski leaving MNL, claiming that he’s spending his time on the golf course. MNL’s version of Don Cherry, Todd Otto, gave his insight. “CHAD’S A GOOD KOREEYA BOY AND HE AIN’T LEAVIN TO PLAY IN SOME FOREIGN LEAGUE WHEN HES GOT THE BEST LEAGUE RIGHT HERE IN HIS BACKYARD. HE’S JUST PRACTICING UP FOR THE MNL INVITATIONAL AT WHISTLIN GHETTOS IN THE SUMMER. HE MIGHT BE MY PARTNER. JUST GOTTA FIGURE OUT HIS HANDICAP.”
“I’M TIRED OF THESE BONEHEAD FANS THROWIN PULLINSKEE JERSEYS ON THE ICE! GET OUT OF MY ARENA YOU’RE NO FAN OF MY SPORT!”
Whatever the decision Paulinski makes, fans can look back and smile on the career of one of the humblest players to hit the ice at Viking Ice Arena.
