You’ve all been catfished. again. I didn’t write that last story. In fact, I am offended that anyone would even consider the thought that I could have written such a garbage and un-true article. It’s nothing but ‘fake news’. That was clearly written by Manti Te’o, pretending to be me.

Yes, the Ducks had goalie changes, but that has nothing to do with why the Ducks are now good. Pistol Pete contends that a ‘discovered team chemistry’ is the real reason they are good. Interesting thought, but what does this really entail? Did the Ducks learn? learn how to play together?

Troy Otto, contends that his inspirational performance playing as a Duck at their blueline inspired the Ducks into better play. Finally, a story with legs, with webbed feet. It is blatantly obvious that the only reason the Ducks are now winning games is because they have found a new source of inspiration. But who was truly their inspiration? Was it Troy Otto alone? He did give an inspiring performance. Maybe he did change the souls of many Ducks by showing them how to truly play, and play together. Like a mother Duck, he demonstrated how to do things, and the rest of the little ducklings were able to just follow him, and try to be like him, until they were able to mature into Ducks that could fly on their own, and play without him.

Still many from the MNL media have been reporting that it was really the inspiration of Weeble Wobbles that was that catalyst for the Ducks’ success by inspiring one particular Duck to play like a star once again. Pistol Pete has vehemently denied these claims, he says it had nothing to do with the inspiration of Weebles. But just look at the numbers. Weebles’ words came at past the midway point in the season. At that point, 12 weeks in, Pistol only had about 1 or 2 goals. The very day of Weebles’ Words, he scored 3. So more goals in 1 day, after hearing from Weebles, than he had goals in 12 weeks prior, without inspiration from Weebles. He has reinvigorated his game and is now up to 10g and top 10 in points, moving Dave P out of the top 10, and losing his bet.

So yes, Pistol is a changed player. But the inspiration needs re-invigoration. He’s scoring now; but not 5 points/gm like he achieved in the immediate wake of Weebles’ inspiration. So he tries to hide away with his headphones, and sneak himself some small inspiration doses of Wobbles if he can get himself the chance. But what is Pistol listening to?
